Images Of Arizona
One of the projects that I am working on, is a collection of poetry from Arizona. For a glimpse into the more scenic aspects of the state, click on the picture to the right, for the online gallery of Jess Vogelsang's photography.

A Generation Defining Itself
A poem (Cocoon) from my chapbook, has been included in volume 5 of the In Our Own Words: A Generation Defining Itself anthology. It's an interesting collection, with work from Kathryn Knudson and John E. Smelcer making an immediate impression on me. For more information about this project, click on the link to the left. |
Steady Diet Of Nothing
Music has always been a huge inspiration to me, so it was exciting (and unexpected) to have one of my poems appear in a recent issue of Premiere Generation Ink, along with a 17 page interview with Guy Picciotto from the great indie-core band Fugazi.

Art Imitates Imitations Of Art
Several years ago, Branches Quarterly held a contest to see if one of my poems could inspire any good visual interpretations, by artists. Apparently there werent many (or any) entries, but I am grateful for this painting by New York artist Anne Lytt, that was eventually passed along to me.
In writing this poem I can only hope that you will attempt to remember this page before I defaced it before this ink had dried ... before even it was moist please do not allow yourself to be distracted by any of the words that these letters tend to spell or any of the phrases that these words may perhaps shape ignore even these instructions strive only to envision the kinetic beauty that is inherent within the blank page do not contemplate why one line ends or the next begins do not analyze anything that you have read because if you can avoid any of the limitations of letters words punctuation phrases stanzas conceptions perceptions that would be success |
